I don't own a great deal 'cos I'm not into the whole shoe thing. A while ago someone wrote on their journal asking about shoes and I was surprised to see that quite a few of the girls owned as many as she did. I just don't get it

I have two pairs of Converse lo, three pairs of Vans traners, two pairs of boots, and about 10 pairs of various shoes. I also have two pairs of Birkenstocks which, as my feet hurt from the extra weight I'm temporary carrying, I live in. I never wear my boots or shoes, only wear the trainers for work and when I'm not in the Birkenstocks (if it rains) I wear the Converse.

I do however have a VERY extensive underwear collection.

I think it must be the 30 ish pairs of trainers that swings it...

I would love to own too many pairs of shoes!

My hubby has several pair of shoes, trainers and boots.

Me, i have a pair of trainers, four pairs of boots, two pairs of sandals and a couple of pairs of flip flops. I'm not one of those who goes crazy for shoes, i never have been. As long as my feet are warm/dry/covered then i'm happy.

Last time I sorted out my wardrobe (mid-June) I had almost 50 pairs of shoes, including heels, sandals, flip-flops, boots, pumps and converse.

At the time I had 12 pairs of black shoes, but I've thrown one pair away since then... I've also bought at least 6 new pairs of various styles and colours and Brett bought me some lovely ones from Next last weekend I probably have almost 60 pairs now, but I only own 10 pairs that I've never worn outside of the house, which is a vast improvement on June's tally

Brett owns around 20 pairs ranging from walking boots, hunting boots, sneakers and dress shoes. He's a size 15UK though, so it looks like hundreds!

I was getting a little concerned this summer when I bought yet two more pairs of shoes - one pair of light weight saftey "joggers" and a pair of proper saftey boots (I've been working in a shipyard in Singapore the past 3 months...) and now I'm considering another pair of hiking boots...
Having looked though the above my shoe collection isn't as excessive as I thought

Doh. have just bought another 2 pairs of trainers.

I think i have a bit of a Babycham shoe obsession (I have 8 pairs now). I know that they are girl's shoes & a bit on the chav side but they are comfy & pretty.

What size feet are you..? I really, really want some Babycham trainers, but I'm a size 9 and I've only ever seen them go up to a size 8...

As for how many shoes I own... I have 1 pair of converse (well, actually 3 or 4 pairs, but only 1 pair that I wear... I haven't managed to throw out my old tatty pairs yet...), 1 pair of smart shoes for weddings and funerals, 1 pair of boots which I rarely wear... And I think that's about it... Oh, and some slippers that I wear around the flat... Oh, and a pair of sandals that I bought on holiday a couple of years back and haven't worn again since...

I'm usually an 8 but i have a pair of Golas that fit fine in a 7.

Yeh, the biggest Babysham do is a size 8 & it's not a very generous 8 either. It's a euro 41 which is more normally a 7.5. I'm a little surprised that they only go up to 8 (even being women's shoes) one of my Scouts is a size 9 & she's 13.

Out of interest POF, is it a particular pair of Babycham trainers you like or just Babycham in general?

On a shoe related theme. If I bought a pair of Converse Hi Tops & wanted to paint them with fabric paint; how would I go about fixing the paint? On a Tshirt you normally just iron the reverse, how would this work with shoes? Could I fill with rice & iron (or would that make rice crispies) or could I put in the oven? Possible melty badness.

I like quite a few of the Babycham trainers, they are generally very cool styles/designs.

The "size 8 for girls trainers" thing seems to be universal, not just Babycham. I've found quite often when I'm looking for new Converse that I'll find a pair I like but then find it only goes up to size 8. And I can only assume that's because that style is considered to be for girls (they do often have pink on them). It's very annoying...

I'm afraid I can't help you on the painting question...

I have one pair of trainers, one pair of smart-casual work shoes, one formal pair and a pair of flip-flops/thongs. That does me fine lol.

Yep got a few like that. My favourite are orange with pink beading round the rubber & flowers & butterflies printed on them with a purple Converse logo.

Yeh, but they still need heat to fix & probably wouldn't geve very even coverage.

Haha, one of my Explorer Scouts tonight told me that my shoes were "Almost too gay to function" which I found funny as pie as Mean Girls is one of my favourite films; another one asked why I was wearing girl's shoes & I had to explain that they weren't girl's shoes they were mine.

One pair of Outdoor trainers for running when I am on a fitness thing
One pair of Wetsuit boots (cross between trainers and diving feet). For canoeing
One pair of Martial Arts shoes, never worn outside
One pair of Wellington boots
One pair of Normal day to day shoes
One pair of interview shoes (formal suit shoes, also worn if wearing a tux etc.

I have one pair less today when my work shoes got a hole in one.

Have added about 5 pairs to my collection since my first post. Not including the ones where I have bought multiple pairs the same to keep for when the current ones wear out.

I think I'm cured. Haven't bought any new shoes for 2 months now.

Have switched to buying jeans instead. Quite fond of the Next "The Wide Leg" ATM so don't bid against me on Ebay LOL.

I used to just wear DMs all the time, but currently have none so perhaps I'm trying to fill a hole here but...
