Quite possibly the most vague generalisation I have ever seen

men and women
ok this isn't like a sexist thing or anythnig. when you think about it as much as i agree we should be equals acceptthe way we look do you think theres a noticable difference in the way we behave in general? for example in general i'd consider men to be more laid back than women and more into sports and stuff. then with women in general i'd consider to be more emotional in general not all the time.

In answer to your question SPIKE... yes Men and Women are different, of course they are.
But i don't think either one nor the other is superior to the other.

Hmm, considering that Aeryn is an avid football fan (I'm not) and that certain movies leave me wiping an eye plus I get ticked off really easily when I'm stressed - I'd say it was a gross generalisation!

Posted: 10:20 Mar 08 2002 yep i agree that i prefer women, thing is not coz of i find them attractive. i dunno why but in general provided i am not attracted to a woman i find it a lot easier to talk to a woman rather than a man, i'm not sure why, maybe its coz i feel they're more understanding.

Of course there are differences between men and women's behaviour. We have different bodies; we're chemically different - that's going to affect behaviour.
Admitting this is *not* the same as saying all women are over-emotional and all men love sports. It is a generalisation, but a valid one.
Hell, I'm more butch than most of the men I know (not terribly hard given the company I keep...) but exceptions do not invalidate a generalisation until there's enough of them to make a different generalisation.
Saying there are difference between the sexes is not sexism, and I think people are too worried by that accusation to want to admit it.

Women are *so* much better than men. I mean, they have looooong slim legs and tight, pert butts. Oh, and the boobies...

Anyway, i agree with Demona, saying there are differences between the sexes is not sexism. There are most certainly alot of differences between the sexesm, and that's a good thing.

On a *cough* serious note:
Conn and I have both recently read a book - very good - 'Why Women can't read maps, and men dont listen'
and basically men's and women's brains are wired differently, we have different chemical combinations, different hormone combinations, and different areas of men's and women's brains react differently to a given situation - and all of this is pre-determined around 6 weeks after conception.
As with these things there is a 'range' of 'maleness' and 'femaleness' from ditzy blonde floaty dress wearer to never worn high heels or a dress in their life, and from hairy, sex-mad, football supporting testosterone fuelled to empathetic, girl's best friend types.
We are all unique and special, and very different - even within the genders.
And I completely agree with Maff - girls bodies are much nicer to look at than men's!!
