Pancake Day!
I totally and utterly forgot (was too preoccupied arguing with the boyfriend) and didn't have pancakes!!!
I'm making them tonight though. Anyone else have pancakes?

I was actually in a pancake competition today! We had to dress up (I dressed up as Alex from Clockwork Orange) and I had to do as many flips as I could...of the pancake

What's "Pancake Day"?
THE ORIGINS OF THE FESTIVAL
"Shrove Tuesday" was the day in which everyone was expected to go to church to confess their sins and be "shriven" ready for the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday. During the period of Lent the devout were expected to practice complete abstinence, including not eating meat, and so frugal housewives, mindful of the waste of perishable foodstuffs if they were not eaten before the Lent fasting commenced, would cook up all the dairy produce and make pancakes - filling and nourishing, to fortify their families for the lean days to come
So hence we all seem to eat Pancakes, made from flour egg and water and fried thinly, we then add fillings the most popular being sugar and lemon

I went to The Pancake Place with mum When I was younger we used to make them, it was great fun, until they ended up on the ceiling. Aran and I had a blast, he always made the best ones though.

Thanks, Sange. I had no idea. Never heard of Pancake Day before. But that's interesting. I'll take mine with maple syrup though.

so completely forgot on tuesday until someone rememinded me, but it was too late then. we were going to have some on wednesday instead, but i didn't feel hungry in the end so Matt had four or five by himself! greedy chops 
i love pancakes though, with icecream and chocolate sauce or savory ones with cheese and ham. yummy
