The leading stories in today's Guardian and Independent: the continuing descimation of the Plaestinan Authority in the Middle East, which could all to easily lead to all-out war in the region, illustrated with a photo of advancing Israeli tanks. (The Indy didn't feature a single story on the late Queen Mother on the front-page, The Guardian featured a brief piece down the bottom. Both devoted one additional inside-page.)
The rest of the papers' leading story: Prince Charles snubbing the BBC because of this "disrespectful" coverage, including such grevious sins as the presenter Peter Sissons not wearing a black tie, BBC1 & two not clearing their evening schedules, and Peter Sissions having the "audacity" to ask who was present at the Queen Mother's death-bed. The Daily Mail, the biggest selling "serious" paper, didn't feature anything on the Middle East situation.
Oh yes, and it included yet another lavishly illustrated Queen Mother supplement to add to your collection.
