Probably because that storyline wasn't really working out, so Joss et al changed the story line for another, like Pilea (sp?) in S2

Few things i don't exactly get :oS
I've been thinking the last few weeks about this, in Angel Jasmine was there to make world peace even though by eating several people it'd have still meant less people die in the world so would have been good in a way. However why when she was Cordelia did she summon the beast, blot out the sun and try and keep Angel as Angelus?

Maybe she knew that Angel would ruin her 'world peace' plans, and so she wanted to keep him as Angelus, who she was perhaps hoping that the gang would kill.

I'm currently getting my Gina Torres fix through Firefly where she plays Zoe - I have a new hero! *drools* 
I have a theory about Jasmine myself.
When Cordy was in the glowy place being all higher & bored, she says that she knew/could see all there was to know, past, present & future.
I think that Jasmine tapped into this knowledge when she took over Cordy.
It's a thought.
